Lua Jungck, synthesizer, electronic / Silvan Jeger, double bass / Vincent Glanzmann, drums UASSYN has become one of the most exciting and progressive ensembles in young European Jazz. What we have here is one of those rare groups with a strong sense of common identity. Still, after lenghty discussions on scuffed rinestones, pierogi in polish highway motels, „Street-Art-Sessions“ in the public area of Zürich city as well as extensive touring around Europe they seem to be driven by their will to push forward and their curiousity to see what's behind that next corner. Founded in 2015 UASSYN spent their first two years secretly developing their own distinct style. Dealing with group specific concepts like the so called spatial compositions and the density compositions. After playing their first tour in Switzerland with ECM pianist Colin Vallon the trio decided to leave Switzerland for some years to exclusively work on and present their music outside of their home country. After eight years of playing with Tapiwa Svosve on alto saxophone, Lua Jungck joined, bringing new sonic aspects to the group’s sound. UASSYN likes the idea of including the people they are surrounded with into their understanding of self. Meaning that they percieve of themselves as being some sort of social construct. By allowing natural collaborations with like minded people of different fields to unfold they have managed to integrate people all around europe. After cultivating their music and style for a total of five years UASSYN presented their long awaited debut Album ZACHARYA. A vibrant studio album which greatly displays their unique live energie, sound and synergy. The band is currently working on their second studio album which will be released by the end of 2024. . Hard charging noise makers that never met a rest they ever liked, these high energy kids are out to slam their way into your heart.” Midwestrecord, Chris Spector “Nach einigen Blicken, mit denen Vincent Glanzmann sich mit seinen Mitmusikern Silvan Jeger am Bass und Tapiwa Svosve am Altsaxofon verständigte, legten die drei mit rhythmischer Prägnanz und vibrierender Energie los...Schon die Aufstellung der Musiker auf der Bühne unterschied sich formal deutlich vom üblichen Schema. Statt etwas weiter hinten, saß der Schlagzeuger nahe am Bühnenrand, mit dem Rücken halb zum Publikum gewandt. Jeger und Svosve standen ihm gegenüber und bildeten zusammen mit Glanzmann einen Kreis. Das ermöglichte den Dreien ohne zusätzliche Monitore, ganz genau auf die jeweils anderen zu hören und zu reagieren. Diese musikalisch sensible Interaktion, der ganz bewusst auch eine soziale Komponente zugrundeliegt, bestimmte den hochenergetischen Auftritt. Von der Lautstärke her wirkte das virtuose Spiel der Drei selbst in dichtesten, kraftvollen Passagen durchaus moderat. Dagegen hätte man in den wunderbar lyrischen, leisen Passagen die vielzitierte Stecknadel auf den Boden fallen hören können...Eine lustvolle rhythmische Vielgestaltigkeit, die wie ein Tanz ums Goldene Kalb wirkte, das juchzend auf jede Anbetung pfeift. Eine insgesamt ungemein spannende Musik, geformt in filigraner Zerbrechlichkeit und kraftvoller, vibrierender Sensibilität.
